Find and play your recordings
The Videos window, recordings still on your Mac, and the transcript beside the player.
Step by step
- 1
Open the Videos window
Press Command L, or use File then Videos, or the Videos button in the recorder's title bar.
- 2
Read the two sections
On this Mac lists the recordings that have not been uploaded yet. Online lists the ones that have. Each section shows a count, and the refresh button in the title bar reloads the local list.
- 3
Play a recording kept on your Mac
Click its thumbnail, or its Play button. It plays inside the app, without uploading anything.
- 4
Read along with the transcript
While a local recording plays, a Transcript panel sits to the right of the video. Click a line and the video jumps to that second.
- 5
Upload, reveal or delete
Each card on this Mac has Upload, Play, a Show in Finder button that opens the recording's folder, and a Delete button that removes it from your Mac. Delete asks for confirmation first, because the recording has not been uploaded.
- 6
Work with the ones that are online
Online cards carry a badge showing who can see them: Private, Anyone with link or Teams. They also show the number of notes left on the video. Hover a card for a copy-link button and an open-in-browser button. Clicking the card opens its page, with the player, the notes and the transcript.
Worth knowing
- The local card's subtitle counts segments, which is how Viddy writes a recording to disk while capturing.
- Transcription runs on your own Mac, so the audio does not leave it.
